General Questions
1. What is TenantPeace, and how does it work?
TenantPeace is a platform designed to help tenants make informed decisions when choosing a rental property. While landlords have various ways to screen tenants, tenants often lack a similar resource to evaluate landlords. TenantPeace allows users to share factual reviews based on their rental experiences, helping others make well-informed choices for their families. Users must follow community guidelines to ensure all reviews are accurate and helpful.
2. Is TenantPeace free to use, or are there any subscription fees?
Yes, TenantPeace is completely free to use. There are no subscription fees for accessing or contributing reviews. The platform aims to generate revenue through advertisements in the future.
3. How can I sign up for an account?
Users can sign up using their email address, Facebook, or Google account. To leave a review, basic information such as name, rental address, and rental dates are required. If users want their star rating to count toward the overall rating of a property or landlord, they must submit supporting documents (such as a lease agreement or utility bill) for verification by TenantPeace administrators.
TenantPeace does not retain sensitive user information; all verification documents are used solely for validation purposes and are securely destroyed afterward.
4. What types of reviews can I leave on TenantPeace?
Users can leave reviews about both the property itself and the landlord or property manager. All reviews should be factual and in accordance with TenantPeace’s community guidelines to ensure fairness and accuracy.
Review Submission & Management
5. How do I submit a landlord review?
When submitting a review on TenantPeace, users will be asked to provide star ratings based on specific questions about their rental experience, including landlord responsiveness, contract adherence, and property conditions. Additionally, users can provide a free-style review in a comment box to elaborate on their experience. There is also an option to upload photos of the property to support the review.
6. Can I edit or delete my review after posting it?
Users can submit updates to their reviews by contacting TenantPeace admin for review and approval. There is no direct option to remove reviews unless they violate community guidelines. However, if a user deactivates their account, their review will become anonymous.
7. Are reviews anonymous?
Users have the option to use a display name. If they do not select this option, their real name, as provided during registration, will be displayed publicly. Regardless of their choice, the TenantPeace dmin will always have access to the user’s real name for verification purposes.
8. What should I include in my review to make it helpful for others?
Users have the option to use a display name. If they do not select this option, their real name, as provided during registration, will be displayed publicly. Regardless of their choice, the TenantPeace dmin will always have access to the user’s real name for verification purposes.

9. Is there a way to report a fraudulent or misleading review?
All reviews undergo admin approval before being published. However, if a user believes a review is misleading or inappropriate, they can flag it for further review. Landlords will be notified via email or text message when a review is posted about their property and will have the opportunity to claim the property by verifying ownership with their dates of ownership. This process helps maintain accuracy, especially when properties change ownership.
10. How does TenantPeace protect my personal information?
TenantPeace is committed to protecting user privacy and will never share or sell user data. We use Supabase, a robust and secure platform, to manage and protect user data through the following measures:

11. Can landlords see who left a review about them?
Yes, all reviews on TenantPeace are public, meaning landlords can view reviews associated with their properties. However, if users choose to use a display name, their real name (provided at registration) will not be shown publicly. Users should ensure they enter a display name if they prefer to keep their identity private. Display names can be updated or changed every 7 days.
12. What should I do if I receive negative feedback from a landlord due to my review?
TenantPeace allows both tenants and landlords to share their perspectives. If a landlord responds to a review, it is part of the transparent process of sharing experiences. If you believe a response or review violates guidelines, you can flag it for further review by the admin team.
Landlord & Property Listings
13. How can landlords respond to reviews?
Landlords must verify their identity before claiming a property by providing documentation related to ownership. Once verified, they can respond to reviews on the properties they have claimed. TenantPeace only displays the landlord’s initials publicly to help tenants identify them.
14. Can landlords request to have reviews removed?
TenantPeace will not remove reviews unless they violate guidelines, which include:
- False or misleading information
- Offensive or inappropriate language
- Personal attacks or harassment
- Private or confidential information
- Content unrelated to the rental experience
15. What happens if a property is no longer available or changes management?
When landlords claim a property, they must provide documentation and ownership dates. Past reviews remain visible, with tenants indicating rental dates and landlord names to help others determine if they are considering the same landlord.

17. What should I do if I face legal action due to a review I posted?
